And this was the sole reason why I considered some further additions for this third edition original: "Dritten Auflage". It is, to be sure, only a small amount that has been added here and there; however, this little is to be valued more highly than the small amount of money one usually pays for such a small book. The division of the chapters, and of these into their sections original: "§§.", has remained exactly as in the previous edition, for the very same reason that I made no changes in this respect in the new edition of my Thoughts on God, the World, and the Soul of Man Gedancken von Gott, der Welt u. der Seele des Menschen; Christian Wolff’s foundational work on metaphysics (1719), which applied his logical method to the most fundamental questions of existence. Just as I initially included nothing in this little book but that which is of certain use and which a person needs to keep for their entire life if they wish to progress successfully in the sciences Wissenschafften; in the 18th century, this term encompassed all branches of systematic knowledge and academic study, including philosophy, law, and the natural sciences; so I also find no reason why I should change my opinion now. For regardless of the fact that much more could have been included, which also has its utility, but is not so indispensable for everyone
