I have had the good fortune of witnessing the exposition of the Rasagangadhara A foundational 17th-century treatise on Sanskrit poetics by Jagannatha Panditaraja and the Natyashastra The ancient Indian encyclopedic treatise on the performing arts, attributed to the sage Bharata. It brings me even greater joy to see that the soul of this work is my incomparable colleague and dearest friend, Shri Pandit Madhusudan Ji, a Master of Literature original: "Sahityacharya". It is now a settled certainty that the discussion, critical analysis, structural inquiry, and traditional study presented here will be thoroughly authentic.
This is because the investigator of its core principles is a worthy scholar, trained by a true teacher original: "Sadguru-shikshit", industrious, and a sincere devotee of knowledge. I am fully confident that the commentaries and the purified, corrected texts of Bharata’s Natyashastra will be published, and the complex knots of the Rasagangadhara will be untied and made accessible. I invite the attention of honorable scholars and appreciative students alike.
