In this copy, which is provided with Kircher's autograph Athanasius Kircher (1602–1680), a celebrated Jesuit polymath and scholar of the Baroque era. on the engraved title page, gathering C A "gathering" or "signature" refers to a group of pages folded together for binding. is missing at the front, and the printing of the "Privilege" original: "Privilegium"; a legal notice granting exclusive rights to print or sell a book, similar to a modern copyright. is missing on the reverse side of the 4th leaf.
