Of all existing things, some are within our power original Greek: ἐφ’ ἡμῖν (eph’ hēmin) — literally "up to us", while others are not within our power.

But not within our power are the body, property, reputation, offices original Greek: ἀρχαὶ (archai) — referring to political ranks or public positions, and in a single word, whatever are not our own actions.
