7. And Isaac said to Abraham his father, and said, “My father,” and he said, “Behold, here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
8. And Abraham said, “GOD will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” And they both went together.
9. And they came to the place of which GOD had told him, and Abraham built an altar there, and arranged the wood, and bound Isaac his son, and placed him upon the altar on top of the wood.
10. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.
11. And the Angel of JEHOVAH called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham,” and he said, “Behold, here I am.”
12. And He said, “Do not lay your hand upon the lad, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear GOD, and have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.”
13. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, a ram behind him, caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
14. And Abraham called the name of that place, “JEHOVAH will see,” as it is said to this day, “In the mountain JEHOVAH will see.”
15. And the Angel of JEHOVAH called to Abraham a second time from heaven.
16. And said, “By Myself I have sworn, says JEHOVAH, because you have done this word, and have not withheld your son, your only one,
17. That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the seashore, and your seed shall inherit the gate of your enemies.
18. And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have listened to My voice.”
19. And Abraham returned to his young men; and they rose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham lived in Beersheba.
20. And it came to pass after these words, that it was told to Abraham, saying, “Behold, Milcah has also borne children to Nahor your brother.
21. Uz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram.
22. And Kesed, and Chaso, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23. And Bethuel begot Rebekah: these eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.
