...to hear Solomon, for "therefore they came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, along with all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom" (1 Kings 4:34 original: "1 Reg: v: 14" — Latin Vulgate numbering). This is also why the Queen of Sheba came, and from the happiness she found in the wisdom of Solomon, she said, "Blessed are your men, blessed are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom" (1 Kings 10:8). Who today would call themselves "blessed" for such a reason?
5225. And no one interpreted them for Pharaoh. This signifies that it was not known what would happen. This is clear from the meaning of "interpreting," which is to know what would happen (as discussed in no. 5141). Therefore, "no one interpreting" means not knowing. In the internal sense, "no one" represents a negative—a "not"—because the idea of a person is turned into the idea of a concept in the internal sense. For example, the idea of a man, husband, woman, wife, son, daughter, boy, or girl is changed into the idea of truth or goodness. Just as mentioned above in no. 4223, the idea of a magician or a wise man becomes the idea of inner or outer scientific facts The author uses "scientifics" to refer to gathered knowledge or data stored in the memory..
The reason for this is that in the spiritual world or in heaven, it is not people who come into view, but things. People limit an idea and focus it on something finite, whereas things do not limit the idea but extend it toward the infinite, and thus toward the Lord. This is also why no person named in the Word is perceived in heaven. Instead, the concept represented by that person is perceived. Similarly, no specific people or nation is recognized, but rather their spiritual quality. Indeed, the historical accounts of the Word regarding specific individuals, nations, and people are entirely unknown in heaven. Consequently, it is not known there who Abraham, Isaac original: "Jischak", or Jacob were, nor who the Israelite people or the Jewish nation were. Instead, it is perceived what Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob represent, and the same for all the others. Because of this, angelic speech is unlimited and universal.
5226. Verses 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. Then the chief butler spoke with Pharaoh, saying, "I remember my sins today. Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, both me and the chief baker. And we dreamed a dream in one night, he and I; we each dreamed according to the interpretation of our own dream. And there was a Hebrew youth with us there, a servant of the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted our dreams for us; he interpreted for each according to his dream. And it happened just as he interpreted for us; I was restored to my position, and he was hanged."
Then the chief butler spoke with Pharaoh signifies thought from the sensual part being subject to the intellectual part. Saying signifies perception from that thought. I remember my sins today signifies a state of separation. Pharaoh was angry with his servants signifies when the natural self turns away. And he put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard signifies rejection by those things that are primary to interpretation. Me and the chief baker signifies both sensual parts The "butler" and "baker" represent the two ways we process the world: through the intellect/senses and through the will/appetites.. And we dreamed a dream in one night signifies what is foreseen in obscurity. He and I signifies both sensual parts. Each according to the interpretation of his own dream we dreamed signifies what would happen to both. And there was a Hebrew youth with us there signifies that an innocent member of the Church original: "infons [insons] Ecclesiæ" — likely meaning one who is guiltless or represents the early state of the Church. was rejected there for the sake of temptation. A servant of the captain of the guard signifies that in which truth is primary...
