The volume is bound in luxurious red morocco leather, a high-quality goatskin often used for prestigious library collections in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The center of the cover features a prominent gold-tooled emblem representing the French Monarchy. The shield displays three fleurs-de-lis the stylized lily symbol of French royalty, topped by a royal crown. The shield is encircled by the collars of the Order of Saint Michael and the Order of the Holy Spirit, the highest chivalric orders of the French Ancien Régime. The entire composition is framed by a decorative wreath of laurel and palm branches.
