After this, the angel ascended into Heaven in a flame of fire. Then Iohé Referring to Iohé Grevis, the legendary Babylonian philosopher introduced on the previous page. was glad. Working with a clear mind, he understood what the angel of the Lord had said, and he saw that THE KEY OF SOLOMON was transformed so that it appeared plainly and clearly to him in all its parts. Iohé realized that this work might fall into the hands of the ignorant, and he said: "I command him into whose hands this secret may come—by the power of the Creator and His wisdom—that in all things he may desire, intend, and perform, he must ensure that this treasure comes to no unworthy person, nor should he reveal it to anyone who is unwise or who does not fear God. Because if he acts otherwise, I pray to God that he may never be worthy to achieve the desired result."
And so he deposited the "Key," which SOLOMON had preserved, back into the ivory casket. The words of the "Key" are as follows, divided into TWO BOOKS and presented in order.
In presenting this translation of a most ancient and historical manuscript—now held in the British Museum in London—to the student of Occultism, a warning is necessary. Death This insertion appears abruptly in the original text, likely as a grave warning regarding the misuse of the rituals.
For twenty years, the writer has received many hundreds of urgent requests from serious investigators and advanced occult students for an authentic and official copy of "The Key of SOLOMON, Son of David, King of Israel." Among these students, those making the request belong to the class who are intensely interested in the production of such seals original: "Seals," symbolic diagrams believed to have magical properties and charms as are used in various operations and experiments. I must, however, warn the reader that if he wishes to succeed in these matters and have his desires fulfilled by being able to perform these operations, it will be absolutely necessary for him to first arrange all essential things and to observe and practice the instructions contained here.
To be brief, it will be necessary for the disciple to exercise care and observation, and to abstain from all unlawful things and every kind of wickedness. Furthermore, the disciple should put the operations into practice exactly as they are set down here. Therefore, let it be understood that there is nothing further to add to the instructions contained here, as all the information that was contained in King SOLOMON’S manuscripts is included in this volume. Let the student study it seriously and with proper meditation; his mind will be enlightened, and he will advance by degrees. But under no circumstances can he expect to progress without serious study and deep meditation. Let the reader realize that learning the work of the Old Masters—and such great men as SOLOMON, who in his time became the King of Israel—is no small task and requires faithful application.
