Charles de l'Écluse. original: "Carolo Clusio." Clusius was one of the most influential botanists of the 16th century, known for his work at the Vienna court and the Leiden botanical garden.
By the same author, a small Commentary on Fungi. This is considered the first scientific treatise dedicated specifically to mycology (the study of mushrooms).
Added are several letters concerning various plants
sent to Charles de l'Écluse by the most learned and
renowned physician, Honorius Bellus.
Likewise, another letter from the most erudite physician,
Tobias Roelsius, regarding certain specific plants.
To these has been added, furthermore, an accurate description
of Mount Baldo in the territory of Verona, by the author
Giovanni Pona, a most diligent apothecary of the
city of Verona.
