writers on herbal matters who have written up to this day; the other by the
Author himself, containing praises of herbal knowledge and other matters both
necessary and most delightful.
FURTHERMORE, BY WAY OF A SUPPLEMENT AT THE END OF THE WORK,
there has been added the small book by Benedictus Textor of Segusia on the differences between plants,
according to common places thematic categories from Dioscorides a 1st-century Greek physician and father of pharmacognosy, most useful to all students of botanical knowledge.
