I have avoided listing every synonym from all authors, so as not to uselessly increase the size, labor, and cost of the book; instead, I have cited only the Species Plantarum of Linnaeus Carl Linnaeus (1707–1778), the father of modern taxonomy and a few other books where the remaining synonyms can be found listed.
The Tjimenfi Herbarium original: "Tjimenfi Herbarium", 20 volumes in octavo with descriptions and crude illustrations, printed in Japan. Each individual volume is about a quarter of an inch thick and also lists the medicinal properties of the plants.
The Sooqua Ienfo Herbarium original: "Sooqua Ienfo Herbarium", 3 volumes in quarto with crude figures, printed in Japan.
The Morokufi Kimooʃi Herbarium original: "Morokufi Kimooʃi Herbarium", approximately 15 volumes in quarto with small and poor figures. It treats plants, various economic matters, mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, insects, and worms, and has crude figures attached for each animal.
