But above all others are the so-called pale plants original: luridæ; a botanical classification used by Linnaeus to describe plants with a grim or deathly appearance, often belonging to the nightshade family, such as Thorn-apple original: Datura, Henbane original: Hyoscyamus, Deadly Nightshade original: Atropa, Nightshade original: Solanum, and Tobacco original: Nicotiana.
