ANOTHER PREFACE to the READER.

The text continues from the previous page: "virtues and delineation, I could not assist," now my spirit is greatly refreshed that the work I put into exploring the medicinal virtues of plants has not been lost. Therefore, nothing is more in my wishes than that those gentlemen should continue steadily in the preparation of the remaining part of the HORTUS MALABARICUS, and not decline the further description of the labor of this work. Given in the City of Cochin, on the twentieth day of the month of April in the year one thousand six hundred and seventy-five.
