spiritual discipline original: "al-riyada," referring to ascetic training and those who have reached the stations of divine manifestation original: "maqamat al-tajalli" through seclusion. This is among the wondrous secrets. No one overcome by old age mentions it without finding a specific fluttering or palpitation in his heart by its special property. Nor does one suffering from fever mention it without suddenly feeling a coolness at that moment. If one recites it and wears it likely as an amulet, his health will be sustained. Draw analogies from this for what is suitable, for we do not wish to be lengthy, and God is the All-Knowing.
From the turbidities of others The remembrance dhikr appropriate to it is: "By the Lord of the Pure One, in the station of purity, two [names] call upon You from the essence of illumination, until there is revealed in the mirror of my heart and the equilibrium of my soul every Name imprinted in the power of Gabriel. By it, he became strong enough to uncover what is in the Preserved Tablet al-lawh al-mahfuz; the celestial record of all decrees regarding the secrets of Your growth and the gatherings of Your messages." For every breathed soul Repentance of the noble has its order extended from minute to minute; one end is from Him, and the second is for the one to whom it was cast. By the gathering of these subtleties in the subtlety of the Gabrielic Name—the Knower, the All-Knowing, the Omniscient—O Possessor of Generosity, who taught by the pen the heart of revelation, inspiration, the inner-speaker, and understanding. You shall see a breath from Him in this hour, the likeness of which speaks through the subtlety of
the greatest from Him, until I finish from You that which Gabriel receives from You, so that I may fill my existence with it without the inclination of overcoming, until Your purities become as delightful as Gabriel’s delight in Your messages. Indeed, You are the Knower of the Unseen. Whoever recites this supplication twenty-five times in this hour will emerge as a guide in the outcomes of his affairs. The Name suitable for this remembrance is "O Knower of the Unseen" Ya 'Allam al-Ghuyub, "O Knower of Hidden Things," and whatever resembles this pattern of Names and from the Great Qur'an: "And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them but He" Qur'an 6:59. Whatever belongs to the categories of this path, draw analogies from it and contemplate it, for you will find it firmly composed in its meaning. It is one of the Great Names of God—I mean every remembrance within its hour—since the secret of the Greatest Name al-Ism al-A'zam, which is the swiftest in responding to the caller, cannot be obtained except by integrating it into a specific type of Names and remembrances. It is a "Greatest Name" for the one whose prayer is answered by it. This remembrance is suitable for those to whom spiritual gnosis ma'arif has been opened; if one persists in it, his heart will yearn for sublime sciences and divine breaths. It benefits hearts through the revelation of inspiration, and even animals will speak to him.
