The Amulet of Al-Buni

This is the Amulet of the Sheikh Abu al-Abbas

al-Buni of Baghdad, may God the

Exalted have mercy upon him,

for the prevention of epilepsy, the rahatahLikely a reference to a specific type of wasting disease or a group of malevolent spirits affecting the body.,

the Jinn, every harmful affliction, and all

the earthly spirits, the qarinahA "double" or companion spirit believed to be born alongside a human, which can sometimes cause spiritual or psychological distress.,

the tabi'ahLiterally "the follower"; a female spirit often blamed for miscarriages or illness in children., the Mother of Children original: "Umm al-Sibyan"; a mythological figure in folklore blamed for infant mortality and seizures., and the male companion spirit.
