The Amulet of Al-Buni

In the celestial spheres, which are beyond the reach of human perception, I seek protection by Kaf-Ha-Ya-Ain-Sad, Ha-Meem-Ain-Seen-Qaf These are 'Muqatta'at' or mysterious disconnected letters that open certain chapters of the Quran; they are considered to hold deep mystical power, by Ta-Seen-Meem, Ta-Seen-Meem, by the Star when it descends, by Ta-Ha, and Ya-Seen, Ya-Seen, and by those ranged in ranks, and Qaf, and the scattering winds, and by the Mount, and those sent forth, and by the Remembrance and the Warning in those who drag forth.

God is Greatest! God is Greatest! God is Greatest—greater than all that I fear and guard against. There is no limit nor power for any created being when compared to the power of the Creator. O assembly of Jinn and mankind! If you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You shall not pass except by authority. Then which of the favors of your Lord will you both deny? There will be sent against you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.

Is it the Truth, O assembly of Jinn, that you deny? And the signs of God that you reject? And His meeting that you mock? Do you rebel against God and expose yourselves to His punishment? Has permission been granted to you, or do you invent lies against God? No! You shall come to know. Again, no! You shall come to know. The command of God has come.
