Then sprinkle it with holy water original: "asperge" and perfume it with incense original: "fumigate", and you have prepared an instrument for service to use when and where you wish.
First, there is the prayer original: "Orison" which is necessary when sprinkling, and it is recited as follows:
In the name of the immortal God, I sprinkle you, [Name of Object], and clean you of all foolishness and all deceit, and you will be whiter than snow. Amen.
Then pour blessed water upon it as the sprinkling, saying:
In the name of the Father + and of the Son + and of the Holy + Ghost, Amen.
These sprinklings are necessary for every item of equipment; so also is the incensing which follows.
To incense, it is necessary to have a small earthen pot original: "cruse", in which you place coal newly kindled with a new fire, and let it be well ablaze. On this you place aromatic spices, and when perfuming the article in question, say the following:
Angels of God, be our help, and may our work be accomplished by you. Zalay, Salmay, Dalmay, Angrecton, Ledrion, Amisor, Euchey, Or. Great Angels: And do thou also, O Adonay A Hebrew name for God, often used in magic to signify authority, come and give to this a virtue so that this creature may gain a form, and by this let our work be accomplished. In the name of the Father + and of the Son + and of the Holy + Ghost, Amen.
Then recite the Seven Psalms which come after Give the King your justice original: "Judicum tuum Regida" (Psalm 72) and Praise the Lord, all you nations original: "Laudate Dominum omnes gentes" (Psalm 117).
Virgin parchment can be made in many ways. Generally it is made of the skin of a goat or a lamb, or another animal, which must be "virgin" meaning an animal that has not yet mated.
After inscribing on the blade AGLA A kabbalistic acronym for the Hebrew phrase "Atah Gibor Le-olam Adonai," meaning "Thou art mighty forever, O Lord", and having incensed it, the knife will serve you for all purposes.
Remember that when you perform the sacrifice in order to obtain the virgin parchment from the kid, all the ritual instruments must be placed upon the altar.
