The "Red Dragon" is one of the most famous grimoires—or books of magic—traditionally associated with the 16th century, though this specific edition dates to the late 19th century.
A circular occult seal or talisman. Around the inner border of the circle are the names "Astaroth" original: "Astarot"; a high-ranking figure in demonology, "Bataniel" (right), and "Ritournel" (left). The bottom arc contains stylized characters that appear to be reversed or cryptic ("204m2l"). In the center of the seal is an illustration of a horned animal, likely a goat, shown in profile facing left. Above the creature is a large capital letter "A" and a geometric symbol.
