It is not a new method, certainly, because nothing is older than the truth, but they have seen me use it successfully in other areas and have strongly urged me to apply it here. Therefore, I believed it was my duty to make an effort in this regard.
Whatever I was able to accomplish is entirely contained in this Treatise original: "Tractatu". I have not tried to collect all the different arguments that could be brought forward to prove these same points, for that does not seem worth the effort unless no sufficiently certain argument exists. Instead, I have pursued only the primary and most important arguments in such a way that I now dare to propose them as the most certain and evident demonstrations original: "demonstrationibus".
I will even add that these proofs are such that I do not believe any path lies open to human ingenuity original: "humano ingenio" through which better ones could ever be discovered. For the im... original: "cogit enim me cau-", likely completing "causa" or "gravity of the cause" on the next page
