Indeed, the objections they raised were so numerous and varied that I dare to hope it will be difficult for anything of any significance to occur to other readers that these men have not already addressed. Therefore, I earnestly request—again and again—that readers do not pass judgment on the Meditations until they have seen fit to read through all of those objections and my solutions original: "solutiones"; these are the formal "Replies" Descartes wrote to the "Objections" gathered from other philosophers and theologians to them.
