The page shows significant aging with foxing and surface staining. There are several pieces of adhesive tape or tape residue along the top, bottom, and side margins. These marks likely stem from a previous binding or preservation attempt.
Near the top of the page is a small, black square inset featuring a gold-leaf or gilded linear symbol. The symbol consists of a circle intersected by both a vertical and a horizontal line, forming a cross within the circle. This is a common symbol for the earth or the four elements in alchemical and cosmological diagrams.
In the center of the page is a finely detailed rectangular engraving of a coat of arms. The central element is an oval shield depicting a bird, possibly a partridge, standing upon a stylized triple mound or hillock. This shield is framed by elaborate Baroque-style scrollwork and is flanked by two stags serving as supporters. Above the shield rests a coronet with five visible points, each topped with a pearl. The entire heraldic achievement is set upon a decorative architectural base featuring further scrollwork and hatching. This armorial plate identifies the noble or scholarly lineage associated with the book.
