Inside the circle is an ornate cartouche or scrollwork frame topped with a winged head. Inscribed within the central shield is the moral maxim: "WHAT YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE DONE TO YOU, DO NOT DO TO ANOTHER" original: "QVOD TIBI FIERI NON VIS, ALTERI NE FECERIS".
