SINCE several theologians of our Society have reviewed the Dissertation on the most august Sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, divided into six books, and have judged that it may be published; I, Nithard Biber, Provincial Superior of the same Society for the Province of the Upper Rhine, by the authority granted to me by the Very Reverend Father General Goswin Nickel The "Superior General" is the highest-ranking official in the Jesuit order, based in Rome., grant permission for it to be printed. In witness whereof, I have confirmed these letters with the signature of my name and the seal of my office. At Würzburg original: Herbipoli; the Latin name for the city of Würzburg, Germany., August 21, 1655.
I, the undersigned, likewise approve and judge as worthy and useful for publication this Dissertation written by the Reverend Father HENRICUS MARCELLIUS. It contains general principles for the reconciliation of all those in error A term often used in this period to refer to Protestants. with Catholics, drawn from the Divine Scriptures and clearly explained in their genuine sense, and founded on the Venerable Mystery of the Lord’s Body and Blood, which is the Sacrament of union and peace. Having been read and approved by the appointed theologians, I have given this testimony signed by my hand in witness of this matter at Bamberg, June 24, 1655.
