Aside from the redemption of Christ the Anointed One, God has shown the human race the greatest and most invaluable benefit by clearly and abundantly revealing his counsel and will directed toward eternal salvation in the Holy Scriptures, along with his essence and works. For although one can certainly recognize through the mere Licht der Natur light of nature; natural reason that there is only one true God, and that he is to be honored as a creator, sustainer, lawgiver, as well as ruler and future universal judge of the world: yet such knowledge is not sufficient for our spiritual and eternal salvation, and compared to the noble light which we have of it in the Holy Scripture, it is almost like the nightly moonlight compared
