The Way to Christ

Preface.

The text begins with the second half of the word "Vernunft" (Reason). reason must be made entirely as if dead / so that the Mother’s Spirit Böhme often refers to Divine Wisdom (Sophia) as the "Mother" or "Mother Spirit" who births the divine life in the soul. may take shape in us / and breathe the Divine Life into us / so that we find ourselves in the Mother’s Spirit in the cradle / if we wish to be taught and driven by God.

We must surrender ourselves entirely to Him / so that God’s Spirit may be the willing / doing / and accomplishing in us; so that we know Him / and not ourselves: so that He may be our knowledge.

enter into Christ’s suffering.

We should by no means say what we want to know / but only simply enter into the incarnation and birth of Jesus Christ / into his suffering and death / and always gladly wish to walk in his footsteps / and follow Him / and remember / that we are on the pilgrim’s path / where we must travel through a dangerous way into our fatherland / out of which Adam led us / to enter again in Christ upon the narrow path.

On this single way lies the pearl / the Great Mystery original: "Mysterium Magnum". This Latin term refers to the "Great Mystery" or the divine "chaos" from which all things are created—a central concept in Böhme’s cosmology.. All studying / seeking and searching outside of this way is dead / and does not obtain the Virginly Crown A symbol of the soul’s spiritual union with Divine Wisdom. / but only thorns and points / which prick the children of God.
