EXETER.

In the Year 1631.

MY LORD,

You have always shown such zeal for the concerns of your friends that I cannot doubt you will pardon the liberty I take on behalf of one of the best of men. This favor is to beseech you to be so kind to him as to take the trouble original: "take the pains" to read over his book. He was about to submit original: "engage" it for the judgment of [someone], which my friend, the author, promised to publish; since I know some authors are apt to think as highly of what they write? as they possibly can?.
