original: "Maestro Leone Medico Hebreo." This refers to Judah Leon Abravanel (c. 1460–1530), a Portuguese-Jewish philosopher and physician. His "Dialogi d'Amore" was one of the most popular and influential works of philosophy in the 16th century, exploring the nature of love through a Neoplatonic lens.
The note describes a trade: the owner exchanged a copy of this same book with Cesare Arditio and also included the "Dialogues" of Sperone Speroni (1500–1588), another famous humanist writer of the period.
