The reader who does not know Andreä will become acquainted with him through your historical introduction to his life; and if he desires more, he need only turn to the monument that has been set for him by the loyal hand of one of his patriotic countrymen in the Wurttemberg Repertory original: "Wirtenbergischen Repertorium"; a reference to the Wirtembergisches Repertorium der Litteratur, a scholarly journal of the late 18th century dedicated to the history and literature of the Wurttemberg region *) . A man such as him must first be known through his life before one gets to know him through his writings: for writings in general—as much as they are a treacherous mirror for many—still only ever show us the surface of our heart and spirit.
