Discourse on Curious Matters

Just as Divine Faithfulness and Love never withdraw themselves from mankind, but rather reveal themselves with the most intense desire; so too do they meet the yearning life with heavenly power and shine with a spiritual ray into the most noble intellect, reminding it of Christ's Redemption and leading it to rationally contemplate original: consideriren the true nature of how an incomprehensible, immutable Spirit nevertheless reveals itself in a tangible essence to visible man, and furthermore, how divine power extends from the One into all souls.

Did this reminder then move man? If he were to draw all the powers of the body—acting as a quintessence original: fünfften Wesens—literally "fifth essence"; in alchemy, this is the purest substance that permeates all nature, beyond the four physical elements of sensuality—toward Reason, and if he searched with the most fervent longing to see whether this redemption should be the light that simultaneously reveals that which is so indispensably desired for man’s well-being and his highest necessities of life?

If man then contemplated the most holy Salvation of the Soul, which God revealed from Himself as a most wondrous means of eternity, would this not provide the truest guidance? Namely: that God has also established a means for the natural body, through which it in
