The glory and splendor of philosophy is the effort to understand the highest Good as the Source original: "Fountain" of all good. Now, how can we come near to or find the Source except by using the streams as a guide original: "conduct" to it? The operations of nature are streams flowing from the Source of Good, which is God. I do not hold the ignorant and foolish opinion of those who say that the greatest philosophers are the greatest atheists—as if knowing the works of God and understanding His ways in the natural world original: "Way of Nature" must force a man to deny God.
