An engraved heraldic bookplate is pasted onto the inside cover of the book. The coat of arms shows a central shield featuring a lion standing on its hind legs, known as a lion rampant. Three severed hands, cut at the wrist, surround the lion: two are placed at the top and one is at the bottom. A knight's helmet, shown from the side with its visor closed, sits above the shield. It is decorated with elaborate leaf patterns. A greyhound stands on top of the helmet as a crest. A banner with a motto is placed below the shield. The owner's name is printed at the bottom in a calligraphic style.
