God is the eternal Being Ens æternum: a philosophical term for a being that exists by its own nature, without beginning or end, infinite unity, and the fundamental principle of all things; whose Essence is immeasurable light: His Power is omnipotence: His Will is perfect goodness: His mere command Nutus: literally a "nod," signifying that God's simplest intent or gesture is an absolute and finished action is a completed work. To one desiring more than this, there remain only wonder, silence, and the deepest abyss of glory. The author suggests that God's true nature is ultimately beyond human description, leading to a state of "holy silence" or "a-pophasis."
