Little Prayer Book

A colored emblem is printed on a rectangular white paper slip pasted to the page. The emblem consists of an oval field with a blue background, surrounded by a yellow border containing the text Hermetic Philosophy original: "PHILOSOPHIA · HERMETICA". At the top of the oval is a golden sun radiating light downwards. In the center, a white pelican is shown in its piety, which means it is feeding its young with blood from its own breast. The bird is perched upon a white crescent moon. The moon rests on a grey cubic stone which features four red roses in a square arrangement. A green snake is visible forming an arc above the sun inside the oval border. This imagery combines alchemy, Rosicrucianism, and Christian mysticism.
