To describe the excellence of this wisdom, I shall employ neither the eloquence of a pagan Demosthenes A famous Greek statesman and orator of ancient Athens. nor that of a Roman consul, Cicero. The magnificence of the revealed Word of God, in its simplicity—which far surpasses all worldly rhetoric—will move us more than all pagan shimmer. Let us therefore consider with attention what glorious praise and consoling exaltation our Master-Brother original: Brudermeister; a title reflecting Solomon’s legendary status as a founder and Grand Master of the Masonic craft. Solomon bestows upon wisdom. The entire third chapter of his Proverbs is full of the most moving expressions, the frequent reading and contemplation of which I kindly recommend to all students of wisdom. There is nothing more certain than that it is far better to deal in her than in silver, and that her profit is better than gold; that long life is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. That he who eats of her will always hunger for her, and he who drinks of her will always thirst for her. (e) That through her, princes and all rulers on earth govern, and so forth. (d) If one further adds the 7th and 8th chapters of the Book of Wisdom A book of the Biblical Apocrypha, also known as the Wisdom of Solomon., one will be transported beyond oneself by the charm, beauty, and advantages of wisdom.
