Life and Death exists. Death is Putrefaction original: Putrefaction; in alchemy, this is the stage of decay or fermentation necessary for a substance to be purified and reborn, the separation of the evil from the good, the pure from the impure; through which the new body and the Matter original: ℞; the symbol for Res (matter) or Recipe, referring here to the essential substance being worked upon are born again to life. For just as a stalk grows from a seed: so a new body emerges from the old body through decay, according to the property and kind of each.

Man, the lesser world original: minor Mundus; the microcosm, or the idea that the human being contains the entire universe in miniature, is the sum and extract of the greater world original: majoris Mundi; the macrocosm or the universe at large. In the lesser world lies the great Secret of the Macrocosm original: Arcanum Macrocosmi, the great universal mystery; only separate the evil from the good—you have the separator within you, so look only within yourself.

and the Earth is the womb or, as it were, the workshop of all the others, from which and within which they work.

Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above from the Father of Lights. This light (as Mr. J. L. ab Indagine Johann Ludwig ab Indagine (1667–1753), a German theologian and author on chemistry and physics writes in his Chemical-Physical Leisure Hours page 213) which flows from the Sun, dwells in the Ether, which is the vehicle original: Vehiculum; a medium or carrier of natural light, through which light and life are infused into us, and the vital spirits for the preserv-
