„ ...faded in death original: "verblichen"; picking up from the previous page's description of his lifelong labor, having worked with much zeal, he died at the beginning of March 1681, (*) after he had lain ill for a long time with consumption original: "Auszehrung"; a historical term for a wasting disease, most commonly tuberculosis. In this illness, he passed through all the trials of the most painful crosses original: "Creutze"; in this mystical context, "crosses" refers to physical and spiritual sufferings viewed as opportunities for divine purification.

„ His body was buried in the Church of Montmartre on the right-hand side by the entrance. Among those distinguished persons for whom he had served as a spiritual director, his memory has remained in great esteem and honor at all times; and these persons often traveled to his grave to offer their prayers to GOD there.

Regarding the writings of Mr. Bertot, one can find a letter in the German language in the fourth part of the Letters of Madame Guyon (page 358). Additionally, in the Candid Discourses, or Testimony of a Child, etc. original: "Freymüthigen Discursen oder Zeugniß eines Kinds", Part III, his interpretation of the Gospel of the resurrected Lazarus has been included as an appendix (page 349).
