Accordingly, that means which GOD has chosen and ordained for us will always be uniquely and solely necessary for us. However, the choice of divine wisdom occurs and is directed according to various motives, at times solely through His eternal decree, which knows and ordains for us what is most fitting and most beneficial and advantageous for us, to lead us either mediately or immediately—according to which divine wisdom is directed, and chooses and ordains this or that for us. This same divine wisdom also arranges, with a wonderful order, the mediate means through the providences events or circumstances arranged by God, which occur and happen just as the eternal decree of GOD has foreseen and ordained, according to the degree of perfection which these souls are to attain through the said mediate means.
