example find souls in this or that place who stand in inner prayer A form of silent, contemplative prayer focused on the internal presence of God rather than spoken formulas. and in perfection, or else Providence will arrange that, for the sake of certain business, they must find themselves in that place; and GOD will make use of them to work on this or that person; and so forth with innumerable means found in the mystery of divine Providence, which are offered at the right time and hour to those souls who need them. It also happens frequently that none of the said means will be found in such a place; and yet, since the wise Providence of GOD wishes to carry out His work in certain souls and lead them to perfection; so this very lack of means causes GOD to decide to use the first kind, namely immediate guidance Direct communication or influence from God to the soul without human intermediaries..

4. There are infinitely many mysteries in these two kinds of guidance; which GOD always has ready at hand to use on every occasion and in every circumstance, to lead and guide us toward holy perfection. This is also the reason why we have not the slightest excuse, and all the more so since we can give absolutely no valid reason why we do not work toward our perfection, and why we do not attain it, acting as if we did not have the necessary and useful means for it, and that while we wished to lead an inner life, we nevertheless
