1. He has become for us wisdom, for He is given to the Church and to the Believers to reveal the true wisdom, which alone is worthy of the name: namely, that wisdom from which alone arises the knowledge and faith of things necessary for eternal salvation, especially regarding God's counsel and will for our redemption|the act of being saved from sin and its consequences, contained in the Law and the Gospel|The two primary divisions of Biblical teaching in Reformed theology: the moral demands of God and the promise of grace through Christ. And for this purpose, Christ is promised as a Prophet|In this context, Christ’s role as the supreme teacher and revealer of God's truth. Deuteronomy 18:15, 18. And Isaiah 61:1. Luke 4:18. Anointed and sent to preach the Gospel to the poor. The Church is therefore commanded to listen to Him as the supreme Prophet. Deuteronomy 18:18. Matthew 17:5. Matthew 23:8. Acts 3:23.
And in accordance with this office of His, He has perfectly revealed this wisdom. John 1:18. Just as He Himself testifies in John 15:15: Everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. Also John 8:26. Furthermore, Christ is our wisdom through imputation|The theological concept where God "credits" Christ's perfect attributes to a person's spiritual account, because by His wisdom our lack of wisdom is covered.
2. Righteousness. 1. As the one teaching the same, Isaiah 63:1: I am He who teaches righteousness and is a master at helping. 2. But especially because the Church—through the appropriation|The act of the believer receiving or "claiming" spiritual benefits as their own through faith of His obedience, satisfaction|The payment of a debt; in theology, Christ paying the penalty for human sin, sacrifice, and perfect righteousness, which she receives from Him as High Priest|The role of Christ as the one who mediates between God and humanity and offers the final sacrifice through faith—becomes righteous. Isaiah 53:11. Hebrews 2:1. Romans 1:16, 17. Romans 3:22, 25, 26, 28, 30. Galatians 2:16. Ephesians 2:8. etc.
John 15:1
3. Holiness, as the one who renews the Church—which is united with Him through faith, just as the branches are to the vine and the limbs to the head—unto true holiness through His Holy Spirit, according to the promises in Ezekiel 11:19 and Ezekiel 36:27. John 3:5. And He credits His perfect holiness to her, so that the Church is perfect in Him. Ephesians 2.
