Rest. If you swing yourself upward through faith from the abyss of earthly life, the realm of nature, and this world, into the light- and spirit-life of GOD: then you stand with your Creator and Redeemer upon one ground and in one Center, and the self-sufficient truth and freedom in GOD will, through the transcendence over nature and creature, make you free from the bondage of sins and from the law of death, which until now has prevented your peace. Indeed, your whole life must be such an upward-climbing of the mindoriginal German: "Gemüth." A central term in German mysticism referring to the deep seat of emotions, will, and soul-consciousness. to reach your rest in the original Essence. Yet it is also certain that every day has three great hours, which in their peculiar alternations can serve as a powerful guide for you to swing yourself in faith toward your point of rest in the Center of Eternity. Now, my spirit, lift yourself up from the airs of this transitory earth, and surrender yourself in faithful devotion to Him in whose communion you would wish to be eternally.
