The book is bound in a deep red leather with a fine pebble-grain texture, identified as morocco leather a high-quality goatskin leather often used for luxury bookbinding due to its durability and distinctive grain. The spine is divided by several horizontal raised bands. In the compartments created by these bands, there are remnants of gold tooling a process where gold leaf is pressed into the leather using heated brass stamps, though much of the lettering is worn and difficult to read.
