And this is precisely what caused me to refrain from making any expansion or continuation in this present edition. For a discerning reader can find more than enough information in the larger volume; however, providing a continuation up to the end of this century original Latin: "seculi". Here referring to the 17th century, as this was written around the year 1700. seems problematic to me for the reasons I cited in the third part of the History of Heretics original: "ketzer-historie". This refers to Arnold's massive and controversial "Unparteyische Kirchen- und Ketzer-Historie" (Impartial History of the Church and Heretics), which challenged traditional church views..

My wish here is that God would awaken and equip many sincere minds to investigate these necessary and important matters thoroughly and impartially, and to uncover even the most recent church history wisely, without a misguided devotion to the world’s parties and sects. I shall not only rejoice in this but will also show myself indebted to anyone who sincerely and modestly points out the errors I have made in this study original Latin: "studio" and corrects them for the common good. For such minds, and no others, are fit to perform this kind of work, which will hopefully prove all the more important in practice original Latin: "praxi" in the future, given how poorly and perversely it has been handled by all the various religious parties until now.
