1st Chapter

7. And every Person who then breaks the least of the Commandments of the Law / and does not fulfill them / shall be called the least in the Matthew 5:19. Kingdom of God; or he is only a Tempter of Jesus; for he asks him about a matter / which he does not want to do / and therefore he condemns himself with this questioning of his. But he who has done the lesser Commandments / he does greater and greater Commandments: he also learns well within himself through God's grace to fulfill the first and great Commandments; such a person does not tempt Jesus his Savior: but Matthew 5:19. he shall be called great in the Kingdom of the heavens.

8. For he desires from time to time from God through Jesus Christ / that he may become more perfect in the Love of God / and do God's Commandments with greater Love; truly through his great longing for Love original: "Liefde-sucht"; an intense, almost physical yearning or "sighing" for divine love. he draws more and more power to [fulfill] them in ful-
