A circular emblem, printed and hand-colored on a square slip of paper, is pasted into the center of the page. It depicts a white pelican in its piety (a bird piercing its own breast to feed its young with its own blood). The bird stands with spread wings over a nest or bowl. Above the bird, a golden celestial source radiates light. Below the nest sits a white cube or pedestal marked with a saltire, which is an X-shaped cross, containing four red roses. This central scene is framed by a blue oval within a yellow border. The border contains the inscription: Hermetic Philosophy.
