This aqueduct still feeds the Trevi Fountain today., so named after a young maiden who showed certain springs to the soldiers, after it had collapsed from old age, in the year 1453.
§. 23. Sixtus V brought the Felice Water original: Aqua Felix. Named after the Pope’s birth name, Felice Peretti. to the Quirinal Hill—today called Horse Mountain original: Monte di cavallo; named for the two giant ancient statues of "Horse Tamers" (the Dioscuri) located there.—at great expense, so that the previously deserted areas of the city might be inhabited again. This is evident from the inscriptions which Domenico Fontana A celebrated Swiss-Italian architect known for moving the Vatican obelisk. recorded in his description of the transport of the Vatican Obelisk.
