We hope that the friends of Mr. Saint-Martin will approve of the choice we have dared to make among his numerous manuscripts. It is to the friends of this true sage, who loved us so tenderly, that we dedicate this work. We wait until some of his friends, who are more advanced than we are in the ways of wisdom, may eventually allow us to enjoy the printing of all his other manuscripts.

The goal of this collection that we present to the Public has been to enable people to judge that the theosophical divine wisdom science, with which Mr. Saint-Martin occupied himself his entire life, is not always an unintelligible science for the majority of readers. It is not necessary, as some believe, to be initiated admitted into secret knowledge,
