A decorative woodcut printer's device belonging to the Beringen brothers. At the top of an ornate scrollwork frame is a bearded male head. Centered within the frame are two clasped hands (the "fede" motif) emerging from sleeves, with small chains or weights hanging from the cuffs. Hanging below the hands is a circular medallion or wreath containing the motto: "BONA FIDE" Bona Fide: In Good Faith.
