...victory and overcoming of their enemies / understanding and happy reign / to the noble, virtue; to the learned, skill; to the artists, experience; to the merchants, wealth; to the afflicted, comfort; to the weak, strength; and to the poor, their livelihood and nourishment sent down from above—which He gives and imparts. Therefore, whatever is sought by water and by land, with danger to body and life by those of high and low station, is found, attained, and enjoyed in this Wisdom alone. Although this Wisdom is a radiance of the glory of GOD / a light from the light / the sun of righteousness / the Word of the Father / which in the beginning was with GOD / and was GOD himself / and is thus Christ Jesus—yet there flows out a created light by the power of this self-subsistent word, Let it be original Latin: "Fiat", for through the Word all things were made / and without it nothing was made / that was made.
And so this Wisdom is found / in greater and lesser degrees within two lights: In the Creator and the creatures / in eternity and time / in grace and nature / in the beginning and the end / in the Alpha and Omega The first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, representing the beginning and the end of all things.. Therefore, no one should think that this Wisdom, found in the Creator and the creatures, sets itself in opposition / or that one part strives against the other / since everything comes from one / and everything returns to one. Just as four rivers sprang from the middle of the Garden of Pleasure The Garden of Eden / and yet they have only one source / so although Wisdom has been invisible with the Father from eternity and is one with Him / and yet became known / visible and manifest in the Creation / she has no other origin and source / but the one GOD.
All creatures, visible and invisible, are powerful because of this eternal Wisdom. For that the earth turns green / and brings forth growing trees and herbs; that the water gives fish and fowl; that sun and moon divide day and night / and provide signs and seasons; that man and all animals multiply / and fill the earth; that the water remains within its boundaries original: "Marckzielen," referring to the divinely appointed limits or "marks" that keep the oceans from flooding the land. / and the air stirs and moves / happens alone through the power of the unspeakable and almighty Word of GOD. For GOD said:
