A detailed botanical engraving shows a dandelion seed head, often called a blowball. The illustration displays a spherical structure made of many individual seeds, known as the pappus. These are arranged in a precise and repeating geometric pattern. Each seed appears as a small circle at the end of a fine line. A short portion of the fuzzy stem is visible at the bottom of the sphere.
A detailed botanical engraving depicts an Angelica seed head shown as a complex umbel. Numerous primary stalks radiate from a central circular hub. At the end of each primary stalk is a secondary cluster of shorter radiating stalks. Each of these is tipped with a small circular seed. The structure forms a large, symmetrical, radial pattern that resembles a starburst.
