...they may arrive at entirely different and better thoughts regarding the most important parts of their profession than they perhaps have held until now, and will not so easily attack human bodies with such corrosive and truly harmful medications Medical practice in this era often relied on harsh chemical or mineral treatments; the author advocates for a gentler approach based on his alchemical findings.
It would indeed be much desired that the author, so highly experienced in the ways of Nature, had wished to share more of the great knowledge granted to him by God in various parts of this work. However, we well understand that as a wise person, he did not hold back without significant reasons. Thus, we must be content with what he has shared. Since it appears he recorded this only for his private use and for his own person, and hardly intended to bring it to light during his lifetime, we are indebted with the deepest gratitude to the noble person of high standing into whose hands it so miraculously fell. This person, being most capable of judging the work themselves, chose not to keep such an excellent work for themselves alone but preferred to share it with the public for their great benefit. In this regard, we most kindly request the author of this work—since he himself has here and there offered hope of providing more light and information on various matters in the future—that if he still lives and this now-printed work comes to his sight, he would be pleased to provide further explanation according to his kind promise.
As for supernatural matters, such as theosophy original: "Theosophiam"; here referring to a philosophical-mystical system seeking direct knowledge of the divine, which the author has taken occasion to treat in this writing original: "Scripto", one perceives from his entire style of writing a mind devoted to God, loving God, and honoring God as the Highest Being in the deepest devotion. It is also very praiseworthy that he zealously maintains the most holy mystery of the highly praised Trinity original: "Dreyeinigkeit" in God, and places the ground of our salvation solely in the merit of Jesus Christ original: "Christi JEsu" as the only true Savior.
However, regarding his particular principles original: "Principia" which deviate from common teaching—such as when he extends the merit of Christ even to the fallen angels, which Scripture in Hebrews 2:16 The verse states: "For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants." denies to them because Christ did not take on the nature of angels but the seed of Abraham; or that he seeks to defend the old opinion of Origen original: "Originis"; a 3rd-century theologian who theorized that all beings, including demons, might eventually be reconciled to God, which Dr. Petersen Johann Wilhelm Petersen (1649–1727), a prominent Pietist theologian and his dear wife Johanna Eleonora von Merlau, a visionary writer who, with her husband, advocated for "Universal Restoration" recently brought forward again, albeit for entirely different reasons, and therefore wishes to lead even the damned angels and spirits to salvation after they have suffered a painful purification; likewise what he says of the spirit-beings Geist-Menschen; elementary spirits or "nature people" thought to inhabit the four elements within the four elements, of ghosts, of the souls of men, of the children of God who mixed with the daughters of men A reference to the "Nephilim" narrative in Genesis 6, as well as his concept of the nature of true faith, the fall of Lucifer and his angels, and other such matters—we leave these to the responsibility of the author and the understanding...
